Following moves by other tire makers, Yokohama Tire Corp. said Monday it will boost prices of its light- and medium-duty commercial truck and off-road tires by up to 6%, effective Jan. 1.

The increase is “due to continued increases in the cost of raw materials and energy-related expenses, Yokohama said in a statement.

Off-road tires, bias and radial, will increase by up to 5%, and there will be “in-line adjustments as well, which will be announced at a later date, the tire maker said.

Tire makers including Bridgestone and Cooper Tire, recently set price hikes on their tires due to higher raw materials costs. (Click here for previous story.)
