TA Gives $30,000 to Trucker's Development & Relief Fund

TravelCenters of America presented a $30,000 check to The St. Christopher Truckers Development Relief Fund.

The money will be used to help truck drivers who suffer from financial hardship due to medical problems.

TA, which is a BP branded marketer, nominated SCF as part of its participation in the BP Fueling Communities grant program. Fueling Communities provides grants to local organizations that are nominated by BP’s branded marketers to support the communities in which they do business.

It’s not the first time TA has supported the effort. In 2010, the St. Christopher fund was presented with more than $200,000 as a result of TA’s 2010 employee and customer fundraising drive. SCF provides financial support to professional drivers to put toward prescription medications, living expenses, and medical procedures. In addition, SCF provides assistance to drivers in lowering medical bill payments.
