For Mail Contractors of America driver Jim Glauser, staying safe on the road has always been a top priority, and doing so enabled him to recently reach the 1 million-mile mark. .
His company, Mail Contractors of America, has honored Glauser for his performance during his 11 years with MCA. This achievement, which requires drivers to maintain a record free of accidents or incidents, takes years of hard work, commitment and a solid relationship with their company, he said.
“You must always pay attention to your surroundings to be able to maneuver your equipment safely in the driving scene,” Glauser said. “A planned daily routine helps me eliminate uncertainty throughout the day, and quality pre- and post-trip checks help eliminate accidents, breakdowns and service delays.”
MCA presented Glauser with a certificate, company patch and a personal letter from Rich Clair, CEO of MCA, for his achievement. Glauser, says Clair, demonstrates how a driver can perform his job safely while providing quality service to customers.
“Safely driving 1 million miles represents the best that Mail Contractors of America strives to see in all of its drivers,” Clair said. “In these days of ever increasing traffic congestion and the needs of our customers for their freight to be delivered on time, I thank Mr. Glauser for the dedication, service and consideration of the motoring public that this award recognizes and hold him as an example to all professional truck drivers.”
Glauser, who has over 30 years of professional driving experience, currently pulls twin 48-foot trailers on the Kansas turnpike. This requires him to practice safe driving habits on a regular basis.
