Oshkosh Corp. said higher defense sales pushed its fiscal 2012 third quarter income to $75.7 million compared with $68.4 million reported in the year ago period.
The specialty and military truck maker said earnings per share rose to 82 cents from 75 cents.
Third quarter sales for fiscal 2012 were $2.18 billion, up 7.6%, compared with $2.02 billion recorded in the prior year third quarter. The company said it enjoyed higher sales in all non-defense segments, particularly its access equipment division whose sales jump 40.4% to $814.6 million in the 2012 period.
