NFI Promotes Barron to Executive Vice President

Rob Barron was promoted to executive vice president from senior vice president and general counsel for NFI.

NFI appointed Rob Barron to executive vice president from senior vice president and general counsel.

Barron will be responsible for the growth of NFI Canada, the company’s Canadian logistics division. Working with NFI Canada President Rob Rusnov, Barron will oversee the company’s expansion of supply chain services across Canada. NFI Canada provides dry and temperature-controlled asset- and non-asset-based air, ocean, rail and truck transportation throughout Canada, cross-border and internationally, as well as warehousing across Canada.

Barron will also have responsibility for Premier Logistics Solutions, a minority business enterprise partnership that NFI has entered into with former NBA player and entrepreneur Jim Jackson.

As general counsel, Barron improved NFI’s legal services and contract review process. He implemented maintenance and operations policies, which improved the average miles per gallon of the company’s fleet. (Read more about his stint as the “fuel efficiency czar” here.) Barron was also responsible for fleet services, where he helped implement numerous initiatives to reduce NFI’s maintenance costs and improve NFI’s service levels.

Barron will continue to be responsible for oversight of fleet services and NFI’s fuel economy initiatives.

“Rob will bring his record of success to strategic growth areas of our company to support our growth plan and meet corporate revenue and expansion objectives,” says Sidney Brown, NFI CEO.
