Jonathan Eilen Wins NAST Truck-Lite Trophy

Jonathan Eilen of Hampton, Minn., won the 2010 National Association of Show Trucks’ Truck-Lite Trophy Series competition. In addition to the trophy, Eilen was presented with a $5,000 check.

Eilen qualified for the trophy when he showed his 2010 389 Peterbilt carrying his late brother Jake’s 2008 MAC trailer at the August 2010 Eau Claire, Wis., NAST event. Eilen’s combo is given a daily workout hauling rock, aggregate and other materials for the family business. Jonathan has grown up in trucking, as the family owned business, Eilen Sons Trucking, was established in 1972.

Second place went to Jeremy Hassevoort of Holland, Mich., and his “Gold Digger” themed 1986 Peterbilt and 2001 Utility trailer. Hassevoort receievd a runner-up trophy and $2,500 check. Hassevoort is a Best-in-Show champion from the 2010 Great Lakes NAST event in Dundee, Mich. He has been trucking for 16 years, working for the family owned business, Rabbit River Transport, established in 1992.

The Truck-Lite Trophy and cash prizes were presented by Tim Walker, Truck-Lite executive vice president of Sales, Europe and Asia, and Bo Trout, president of NAST.

“The trucks represented here today are truly worthy of all the recognition we can give,” said Walker. “They are among the most beautiful to grace America’s highways.”

Established as a corporation in 1996, The National Association of Show Trucks is dedicated to encourage, support and promote activities related to the trucking industry by showing pride in trucks and truck operations.
