The Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration has extended the comment period on its planned changes to the Compliance, Safety, Accountability program by two months, through July 30.
The comment period was extended to allow motor carriers additional time to review the impact of the planned changes on their scores and offer suggestions for improvement, the agency said.

“FMCSA will conduct further outreach to carriers to encourage them to review how proposed enhancements will affect their [safety measurement system] score and take action to correct potential safety problems before the changes are implemented, it said.
The trucking industry has been concerned about the CSA program not accurately determining fault in truck crashes, while last week American Trucking Associations officials said they would like to see changes to the CSA program.
