Blue Tree Systems Adds Dry Trailer Tracking

A new dry trailer tracking solution is now available from Blue Tree Systems. R:Com Dot is a low-cost, self-contained and heavily ruggedized unit designed to be mounted covertly on the underside of the trailer – including flatbeds and tankers.

The product also provides live position reports every 10 minutes when tethered and scheduled reports when untethered, across all North America.

“With the addition of R:Com Dot to our product portfolio, we are now the only North American provider of a comprehensive fleet management system that includes untethered reefer monitoring, untethered dry trailer monitoring and a full in-cab fleet management solution,” said Charlie Cahill, CEO of Blue Tree.

Designed to overcome the common problems associated with other dry van tracking solutions including poor hardware reliability, poor battery performance, awkward installation and infrequent location updates, R:Com Dot uses the latest GPS technology for highly accurate location data. When untethered, the Dot is powered by a high grade lithium polymer battery, normally used in military applications, and is rated for three or more years of operation. A high capacity rechargeable version of the battery is also available as an option providing several months of untethered operation before requiring charging.

Other features include:

– Map views in road, aerial and bird’s eye views

– Detailed trailer movement information with drill down detail and tracking history that includes trip, stop and time at location reports

– The ability to quickly and easily name and geo-fence thousands of locations and provide exception-based alerts

– Cargo control alerts for monitoring door open and close events

– Over-the-air programming, upgrades and customizations to reduce downtime

The R:Com Fleet Management Solution includes vehicle tracking, in-cab communication and navigation, fuel monitoring, engine and driver performance monitoring, reefer temperature management, automated IFTA fuel tax reporting, and hours of service management.
