Truckload carrier USA Truck said Robert Peiser has been appointed the company’s new chairman.

Peiser — who joined the Van Buren, Ark., carrier’s board in February — succeeds Terry Elliott, who will continue in his other position as chairman of the company’s audit committee.

USA Truck, which reported a third-quarter loss late last month, is ranked No. 49 on the Transport Topics 100 listing of U.S. and Canadian for-hire carriers.
