LAS VEGAS – Volvo Trucks said it will continue to be the sole sponsor of America’s Road Team in 2013.

The company, which has sponsored the program since 2002, made the announcement at the opening session of American Trucking Associations’ Management Conference Exhibition here Monday.

“Volvo Trucks’ support of America’s Road Team is one of our proudest partnerships,â€ said Magnus Koeck, Volvo Trucks vice president of marketing and brand management.  “The work that America’s Road Team does nationwide is indispensable.â€

Created in 1986, America’s Road Team is an outreach program of ATA that promotes road safety, led by a team of top truck drivers.

America’s Road Team Captains speak to lawmakers, students, and other drivers to increase awareness about the essential nature of America’s trucking industry and the importance of highway safety.

Volvo supplies the Road Team with a VNL 780 tractor, which they use to transport the ATA Image Trailer, used during its presentations.
